In a shadowy space, you stumble upon a field of peculiar, smoking-colored poppies, the air thick with herbal and charred aromas. As your curiosity leads you to discern the scents, you discover a spectral image of a Chinese child laboring amidst the poppy blooms, 'Smoking kills', he tells you. In that moment, you realize you are ensnared in an opium-arium that transcends time and space。

“For Opium-arium, winner of the second edition of the Prix Flair, Haonan He presents an installation in which ceramics, archival images and scents come together. A field of poppies, representing the plant's life cycle from seed to flower, echoes the archival image from the early 20th century that opens the space, depicting Chinese children in the midst of harvesting. The scent of the plant is reminiscent of the way opium smokers inhale it, a drug obtained through human transformation that was sadly at the heart of England's economic manipulation of China, plunging many of the empire's subjects into violent addiction.”

在一个阴影笼罩的空间里，你偶然发现了一片奇特的、冒着烟雾的罂粟花田，空气中弥漫着草药和焦炭的气味。当你的好奇心驱使你去辨识这些气味时，你发现了一个虚幻的身影——一个中国孩子在罂粟花丛中劳作，他对你说：“吸烟有害健康。”在那一刻，你意识到自己陷入了一个超越时空的鸦片馆。

“在第二届Prix Flair艺术奖获奖作品《鸦片馆》中，何浩楠通过一场装置展览呈现了陶瓷、档案图像和香气的结合。罂粟花田代表着植物从种子到花朵的生命循环，呼应了开场的20世纪初的档案影像，展现了中国儿童在采收过程中的情景。这种植物的香气让人联想到鸦片吸食者的吸入方式，这种通过人类转化得到的毒品，遗憾的是，曾深深根植于英国对中国的经济操控之中，使帝国的许多臣民陷入暴力成瘾。”


    Dans un espace obscur, vous tombez sur un champ de pavots étranges, de couleur fumée, l'air étant chargé d'arômes d'herbes et de charbon. Alors que votre curiosité vous pousse à discerner les odeurs, vous découvrez l'image spectrale d'un enfant chinois travaillant au milieu des fleurs de pavot : « Fumer tue », vous dit-il. À ce moment-là, vous réalisez que vous êtes pris au piège dans un opium-arium qui transcende le temps et l'espace。.

<Pour Opiumarium, œuvre lauréate de la seconde édition du Prix Flair, Haonan He présente une installation où céramique, image d’archive et odeurs se côtoient. Un champ de pavot représentant le cycle de vie de la plante de sa graine à sa floraison, fait écho à l’image d’archive du début du XXe siècle qui ouvre l’espace, représentant des enfants chinois en pleine cueillette. L’odeur de la plante diffusée, rappelle le moyen d’inhalation des fumeurs d’opium, drogue obtenue après transformation humaine et qui fût tristement au cœur de manipulations économiques de l’Angleterre envers la Chine et qui plongea nombre de sujets de l’empire dans une violente addiction.>
